Christopher (Chris) Litten

B.S. Business Marketing NSCA, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist Certified Personal Trainer, Level 2 Precision Nutrition Coach, FMS I &II Level Certified, Functional Aging Specialist

BodyBasics founder and Fitness Coach, Chris Litten, has a B.S. in Business Marketing from the University of Phoenix and is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as both a personal trainer and as a strength and conditioning specialist. Chris is also a certified Precision Nutrition Level 2 Coach as well as a certified Functional Aging Specialist. He has been working as a professional fitness coach since December of 1994 and has been a part of healthy change to countless people. Chris takes an intellectual approach to fitness and combines his various skill sets with the wants and desires of his clients to produce incredible outcomes.

When he’s not educating and inspiring others toward positive change, Chris enjoys spending time at home with his wife, Kristine, and two beautiful children who inspire him every day to be a better person.


Myrya Ruiz

ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, FMS I & II Certified

Myrya grew up most of her childhood in Patagonia, then moved to Tucson at the end of high school. Growing up she always had a passion for sports and exercise. That is what started her out on the path to be a personal trainer. She earned her  Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts and is a certified personal trainer through ACSM. Myrya is driven to all help people achieve happiness in exercise and movement. She believes with the right help and techniques anyone can start on the road to a healthier lifestyle, and she strives to provide that service.

When she is not working she enjoys being with her family and friends. She also likes camping, hiking, and traveling. Hobbies are basketball and watching the Wildcats win.


Kristian Martorana

ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, FMS I & II Certified

Kristian is a Tucson native who attended Canyon Del Oro High School.  As a young child he was introduced to sports, primarily baseball which kept him busy and active.  After graduating from high school, Kristian attended the U of A with the intention of attending medical school.  After his first year, Kristian realized medicine was not his passion and decided to take a year off school to decide what he wanted to do.  With his active background he decided to explore personal training and attended the Pima Community College Fitness Professional program.  He loved the program and decided to continue on the path of becoming a personal trainer.  Kristian feels lucky to have found out what he really wants to do at such a young age.  He strives to continue learning as much as possible to be the best trainer he can be.

When Kristian is not training, he enjoys playing sports, hiking and spending time with friends and family.


Lance Thiele

NASM Certified Personal Trainer, FMS I & II Certified , M. S. Kinesiology, Certified Orthotist

Lance joins the BodyBasics team after spending over 18 years in the health and wellness arena.  After graduating from Central Michigan University with a B.S. in Sports Medicine and a minor in Exercise Science, Lance went on to Southeastern Louisiana University where he earned his M.S. in Kinesiology.  Furthering his education, Lance completed his certification in Orthotics.

Lance spent several years as an athletic trainer at the university level and also at Gary Grey Physical Therapy.  For the past 9 years, he has been working as a certified orthotist in the mid-west and Tucson areas.  This past July he earned his personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.  He is very excited about continuing on in the health and wellness arena as a personal trainer.

Outside the gym, Lance enjoys being outdoors camping.


Rachel Colbus

ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, FMS I & II Certified, B.A. English Literature, M.A. Management

Rachel is originally from Orlando, Florida, but lived all over the world during her time in the Air Force. She retired in Tucson and decided this was the perfect place to call home. Rachel has always been physically active but was never interested in making a career in the fitness industry until a few years ago when she started training a friend who was a beginning runner. This experience inspired her to want to help more people achieve their health and wellness goals. So, she attended the Pima Community College Fitness Professional program and was certified as a personal trainer through ACSM. Rachel has always enjoyed coaching and motivating people and is truly passionate about helping people change their lives.

When Rachel isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her sons, hiking, running, traveling and

finding new adventures.


Ben Burton

NASM Certified Personal Trainer

Ben is a recent Tucson transplant that moved here from Nashville, TN. With Arizona being such a popular state for outdoor activity, he came in hopes of finding a career in the fitness field and could not be any happier than he is now having become a part of the BodyBasics team!

Ben was introduced to fitness at an early age of 14. It wasn’t long before he was competing in the sport of powerlifting, something he really found an affinity for. He actually set a world record at the age of 17 for his age and weight class with a dead lift, one of 3 lifts one competes in as a powerlifter, of 570 pounds!

Ben is a vibrant, enthusiastic young man who not only wants you to achieve your goals; he also wants to make sure you enjoy every minute of time spent during your sessions with him.

When Ben is not training he can be found at some of his newly discovered spots in Tucson like Whole Foods, Road House Cinemas, and any available swimming pool.
